will benefit The Fallen Heroes Wreath Program, to honor all law enforcement officers and firefighters

who lost their lives in the line of duty.

WHAT:          Can you really enjoy tacos on a day other than Tuesday? When they’re infused tacos for a good cause, you sure can! A two-day cannabis kitchen takeover in Tempe will offer nontraditional tacos on Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18. That’s when Phoenix-based Willie’s Taco Joint will team up with the state’s largest dispensary operator, Mint Cannabis, to serve a cannabis-infused version of its popular tacos to adults 21 and older at the Mint Café.

The two retail operators will donate a percentage of proceeds from the infused tacos to The Fallen Heroes Wreath Program, to honor all law enforcement officers and firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Willie’s Taco Joint is known for its award-winning Green Butcher Taco, The People’s Choice Award Winner at the 2017 Phoenix New Times Tacolandia Festival, it’s “Big Fatty” Burrito, and its signature margaritas. During these two days, Mexican food fans will be able to purchase THC-infused versions of Willie’s Big Fatty Burrito (100 mg, $20); Street Tacos (100 mg total split across three tacos, $20); Carne Asada Fries (100 mg total, $20); and Churros (20 mg total split across two churros, $10) at the Mint Café in Tempe.

All takeover menu items are freshly made upon each in-person order. The food items will be available when the Tempe kitchen opens at 9 a.m. all the way until 11 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 18, or until supplies last.

WHY:             Mint Cannabis and Willie’s Taco Joint will donate a portion of proceeds from the kitchen takeover to The Fallen Heroes Wreath Program, a nationally recognized 501c3 organization that strives to honor all law enforcement officers and firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. Each year, the nonprofit assembles wreaths to place on their graves and speak their names. This year, the nonprofit’s wreath placements will take place Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, in Phoenix.
