Drug Policy Alliance Founder to Discuss Cannabis Advocacy in 2020 at Marijuana Industry Trade Association Networking Event February 19th

Arizona’s election year cannabis advocacy efforts will be the topic of discussion at the Marijuana Industry Trade Association’s (MITA AZ) monthly networking event, Wednesday, February 19th. Drug Policy Alliance Founder Ethan A. Nadelmann will headline the meeting at the Found:RE Hotel from 5 to 9 p.m., 1100 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix.

Sponsored by Smart & Safe AZ, tickets are $30 each and include networking before and after the keynote presentation. Limited tickets available, please R.S.V.P. to reserve seats by visiting www.mita-az.org.

Described by Rolling Stone as “the driving force for the legalization of marijuana in America,” Nadelmann founded the Drug Policy Alliance in 2000, a nonprofit organization based in New York City working to end the war on drugs.

“We are honored to have Mr. Nadelmann visit Arizona again. It’s important for our business community to better understand how we can work together during this election year to improve policy and build a safe and successful industry,” stated MITA AZ Founder Demitri Downing. This is the second time Nadelmann has been a featured speaker at MITA-AZ.

Renowned for his drug policy reform efforts, Nadelmann received his BA, JD, and PhD from Harvard University and a master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics. Prior to establishing the Drug Policy Alliance, he taught politics and public affairs at Princeton University.

MITA AZ’s mission is to help Arizona’s cannabis industry stay informed, network and thrive. The organization works directly with members and policymakers to ensure Arizona’s program is fair, tightly regulated and successful. For more information, go to www.mita-az.org
