Marijuana Industry Trade Association Named Top Phoenix-Area Networking Associations
PHOENIX, Ariz. (June 5, 2020) – The Marijuana Industry Trade Association (MITA-AZ), a business organization for Arizona cannabis professionals, today announced it was named to the Top Phoenix-Area Networking Associations list compiled by the Phoenix Business Journal.
Ranked by number of Valley-area members, the annual list also assessed local dues, number of 2019 events, and top local executives and board of directors. MITA-AZ is the largest cannabis networking group in Arizona and ranks #16 on the Phoenix Business Journal list with 225 members.
Established in 2016, MITA-AZ was founded with a mission to help Arizona’s cannabis industry stay informed, network and thrive. Former prosecutor and registered lobbyist Demitri Downing serves as Executive Director and founder of the organization. Downing was instrumental in drafting Prop 205, Arizona’s legalization bill and is currently an advisor to the 2020 Arizona recreational initiative committee.
In April, MITA-AZ hosted its first virtual, town hall style event drawing more than 100 attendees to discuss the future of cannabis in Arizona. The influential organization unites industry license holders, professionals, investors, stakeholders, and policy makers from around the country to educate and advocate for smart, regulated, responsible cannabis policy.
