Industrial Hemp Program 2019 Year-End Report

Arizona industrial hemp producers were able to apply for a license beginning May 31, 2019. The first seeds planted went into the ground on June 7, 2019. Below is the 2019 Industrial Hemp Final Report.

Growers with crops that were determined to be non-compliant were provided an opportunity to propose a corrective action plan prior to disciplinary action. Two methods approved in 2019 were crop blending and homogenization, and on-site THC Removal. Please see below for more information.

Growers faced many challenges in the first year of producing industrial hemp in the State. Some of these included insect pressures, irrigation practices, soil conditions, soil salts, seed germination rates, and extreme heat.
