Arizona Dispensary Begins Cannabis Education Service for Older Adults

According to a new study, 1 in 8 Americans aged 50+ have used cannabis in the past year. Over the last few years, many more seniors have started using cannabis—primarily for health purposes.

To help older adults confidently navigate marijuana dispensaries, Giving Tree Dispensary in Phoenix, Arizona is launching its “Coffee and Cannabis” educational series for people aged 55+.

The educational series will have sessions in October and November. It’ll offer personalized guidance from a staff member certified in Cannabis Healthcare and Medicine by the University of Arizona and will cover cannabis basics, reading product labels, and exploring various product options. Attendees will also receive a goodie bag with educational materials, samples, and swag.

“Seniors are increasingly turning to cannabis as a natural remedy for managing a range of health issues including chronic pain, anxiety, and sleep disorders,” said Lilach Mazor Power, CEO and founder of Giving Tree Dispensary. “This movement toward cannabis is helping to redefine how older generations approach health and wellness. Our Coffee and Cannabis events provide a safe place for seniors to ask questions, learn about products that are available, and make informed decisions.”
