According to WalletHub’s Most Pet-Friendly Cities 2024 report, Scottsdale is the most pet-friendly city in America.
Phoenix came in 13th, and was the only other Arizona city in the top 20. The other Arizona cities that made the list were Gilbert (53rd), Chandler (57th), Glendale (58th), Mesa (81st), and Tucson (94th).
WalletHub researched the 100 most populated U.S. cities and rated them based on 23 total metrics. The three main ratings categories were pet budget, outdoor pet-friendliness, and pet health & wellness. Other categories included veterinary care costs, animal protection laws, animal trainers per capita, weather, and dog parks per capita.
Coming in 2nd through 5th on the list were Tampa, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Birmingham, AL; and Lexington, KY.
